Welcome to

authentic curriculum

Just as the Visible Research Project promotes, scientific research done at colleges and universities can serve as authentic ways to engage students in the amazing world of science!

The units included here are based on research done by Dr. Michelle Soupir at Iowa State  University, and are written for grades 6-12.

co-designed curriculum modules

Woodchip Bioreactors

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)

Using the Gulf Dead Zone as an anchoring phenomenon, these modules help students understand the science behind using woodchip bioreactors as a way to mitigate nitrogen runoff into waterways.
